The Long Story of U.S. Debt, From 1790 to 2011, in 1 Little Chart

War has been a huge contributor to the U.S. debt, and we're still paying for our wars even today. Imagine what we could rather do with that money, which is not billions but trillions of dollars, like funding solutions to the extreme income inequality we face, which is a costly problem in itself, though nothing near the money spent on war, some of which goes to paying for the millions of jobs in the industries which provide services and equipment to be used in wars, which is also why we need an economic solution, so that individuals don't have to make bombs for a living, because it makes no sense to employ ourselves in taking life from others to secure our own financial security, when the wars are what is putting us into such massive debt in the first place. We constantly need yet another war to bail us out of each previous one, with the result of becoming further and further in debt, how much more can we repeat this never-ending cycle before it goes too far?
